Solano Community College closed its main Fairfield campus Monday afternoon due to a broken water main.

The campus was closed at 3:15 p.m. and water for the campus was shut off to repair the problem, school spokeswoman Yashica Crawford said in a press release.

Classes on the Fairfield campus were canceled and employees and students were asked to leave.

Crawford announced in a separate press release Monday night that the campus would remain closed until 2 p.m. Tuesday, at which point all scheduled classes would resume and all offices would reopen.

Solano College has centers in Vacaville and another in Vallejo in addition to the campus in Fairfield. Neither of those campuses were affected by the water main break. The college district also offers courses at Travis Air Force Base and operates a School of Aeronautics at the Nut Tree Airport.
