According to Detroit Free Press on August 19th:
At least eight water mains in Redford Township broke simultaneously on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
It’s not clear what caused the ruptures, but water may have flooded a few side streets, and several residents are experiencing low water pressure and discoloration, said Lt. David Holt with the Redford Township Police Department.
Officials are still trying to figure out how many breaks there actually are, and are also working to repair them. But it’s not clear how long the repairs will take.
“Our advice is to not drink or wash with the water” if you are experiencing water problems, Holt said.
