According to The Times-Picayune on August 28th:

Classes at McDonogh 42 Elementary Charter School have been delayed until 9 a.m. Friday (Aug. 28) because of a broken water main at the school, an official said.

Mickey Landry, executive director of the Choice Foundation, said a water main broke Thursday night at the school and plumbers were unable to fix it by midnight. The plumbers got the part they needed Friday morning and were working on the problem first thing. They were close to having it repaired as of 7:30 a.m., he said.

Faculty and staff were due at the school at their regular time. However, since there are no working bathrooms, students aren’t expected to arrive until 9 a.m.
