A third water main break in as many days in the city of Peoria and it could be symptomatic of aging infrastructure.
Rogers said aging infrastructure in Peoria is a major issue, that includes road, water, sewer, and waste water systems.
“It’s really important that we start looking at more comprehensive plans, assessing our systems to ensure that we know that the maintenance and the operations of those systems are being done in a timely fashion,” he said.
Rogers adds it’s not just Peoria. The American Society of Civil Engineers gives America’s overall infrastructure a D+ grade.
