According to WQOW TV News 18 on June 8:

City officials received a report of a water main break on the west side of the city, which caused approximately 1 million gallons of water to leak.

According to city officials, a contractor hit a 12 inch water main, which caused a significant amount of disruption to the water distribution system. City crews isolated the break, and the water main was expected to be fixed by late afternoon.

Customers around the area of Third Street and Bolles Street might see slight discoloration of the water due to the break, and are advised to run cold water until the color clears up. City officials said the discoloration is due to Iron and Manganese, which do not pose danger to the public.

City officials will be flushing fire hydrants to clean up the water in the area.
